After several years in the trike business, we've found that small motorcycle engines are not quite powerful enough to pull a trike rear-end. Some trike dealers will build small trikes because they are cheaper, but we have heard too many customers tell us they regret purchasing their small trike because it was underpowered. We recommend motorcycle engines be at least 1100ccs before building it into a trike. When it comes to smaller trikes, the Honda VTX 1300 is our favorite.
Without question yes. And we have several reasons to support this.
If uninhibited, our conversion techs can build a trike in two to four days, depending on accessories. But the customer should keep in mind that we have to order parts that can take up to four weeks. If a customer is interested in having their bike ‘triked', we suggest he or she call us and we'll set up a time to schedule the conversion.
Yes. But the good news is, you can test on one too!
Unfortunately we cannot allow customers to buy just the conversion kit to take home. Because Motor Trike backs every product with a three-year, sixty thousand mile warranty, customers must have a licensed dealer perform the conversion.
Well that, of course, depends on the motorcycle we convert. Typical rule of thumb: a trike gets 8-10mpg less that whatever the motorcycle got before it was converted.
